Counseling On Finding Self-Confidence

Looking outside the self and treating the illusory reflection as a mirror is the first problem. — Donna Rockwell, Psy.D.

Self-actualization determines the core of our existence. It is the phase in our lives where we evaluate how far we have become in our pursuit of success in life. Self- actualization enables us to evaluate how we were able to bring out the best in us and maximized our potentials in accomplishing every goal we have set for ourselves. It gives us a sense of fulfillment and purpose in life.

However, self- actualization entails fulfillment and satisfaction of the other stages of human needs and development. Meaning, for us to achieve the level of self-actualization, we must first satisfy and accomplish the necessary stages such as physiological, safety and security, love and belongingness, and self-esteem or self-confidence.

Using the diagram of Abraham Maslow, the next step to self-actualization is self-confidence. If you are still not feeling self-actualized, maybe you have some self-confidence issues that hinder you from fulfilling the next stage. This article will offer some strategies for helping achieve and master your level of confidence to move forward to realizing your full potential.

Charge IWith Confidence

Our existence is like a race of survival in which all of us aim to finish with success. However, attaining one’s success can prove some obstacles that can be counteracted with confidence. A person with a high level of self-confidence is showing a lot of potentials and capabilities that can help achieve his/her goals. With high confidence in oneself, a person is determined to move mountains, and there is nothing impossible to stop him/her from making their dreams a reality. Confidence is the driving force that can make all things happen.

This will take a certain period of training and boost your personhood that you can do things on your own. Try looking yourself in the mirror every morning and speak to your reflection that you are unique. Powerful positive words and self-talk are proven to have a psychological effect in telling the mind what to do. By doing this every day, you are conditioning your self-worth.

You can’t do it alone; we get that. Thus, another way to find self-confidence is by reading self-help books such as The Power of Positive Thinking. This book speaks on overcoming defeat and offers advice on how to win life struggles with confidence.

Rerouting The Path Via Online Counselling

At present, online counseling can help people with pieces of advice about their problems. More people are turning to the internet in finding solutions for their relationship or psychological issues. There are many counselors or therapists online that can help you find and discover your self-confidence. With online counseling, you will not be ashamed of speaking with another person directly as the platform can be set into an anonymous consultation. This way, the privacy and confidentiality of the person are protected. Online counseling also proves to be beneficial to persons with mobility problems. Often, sessions are done at your own convenient time and place; thus it does not matter if you are in your living room or patio while speaking with an online counselor.

Practice Makes Perfect

Our last advice is to go out and conquer the world. All the things that you have heard and read will be futile if you will not put them into practice. Self-confidence must be executed and the only way for you to show this is when you overcome your fears and face every challenge with a positive outlook.
